Brasserie was founded in 2006 with a focus on offering exceptionally innovative cuisine paired with a low key atmosphere.
Brasserie is located in the old Bower Pharmacy building, a landmark to Tenafly residents that served as a staple in the community for decades. When Bower Pharmacy’s iconic building became available, Brasserie owner Dorit Reiner was immediately drawn to the space, which has exposed brick walls and big brass doors at the entryway. The space lends itself to an upscale yet casual atmosphere, with bright natural light during the day and subtle lighting and candles bouncing off of the exposed brick walls at night. Cozy booths coupled with French posters that line the walls create an air of fun and relaxation.
Over time Brasserie has become a go-to restaurant for those in the Tenafly area. From high school students who grew up eating at Brasserie and come back on college breaks to families who visit weekly, Brasserie is happily a vibrant member of the community, offering family and friends a place to gather week after week. Owner Dorit Reiner prides herself on the longevity of her relationships with local patrons, many of whom have been coming to the restaurant since its grand opening.
